Cuisine

Greyfell Academy has 5 stars for Food Hygiene by the Food Standards Agency.

All meals are nutritious and freshly cooked on the premises to keep their brains sharp, and their immune systems strong.

We cater for individual children’s needs, whether they be medical, allergies, religions, vegetarians or food preferences. Alternative foods will be given to any child who doesn’t eat their lunch or tea.

Water is freely available throughout the day.

The menu's are on a three week rotation, see below an example of our menu for week 2 and International vegetarian week.

"Careful consideration is given to support children to develop their independence. Older children set the table ready for lunch and serve themselves. They make choices about what they want to eat and drink" (Ofsted,22).

Children in the Pre-School room are encouraged to set the tables at meal times, self serving at lunch times, selecting and making their own high tea along with guided support when pouring their own drinks. This also promotes individual choice for each child.
