Under Two's (0-2 Years) Room

We have two rooms with different areas for the children aged 0-2 years old to learn and play. They both provide a spacious, safe, fun, caring and stimulating environment. All children are able to explore either environment throughout the nursery day as well as our own outdoor area.


Both rooms inspire children's individuality, independence and confidence supported by their key person. In these rooms we have story areas, musical instruments, sand and water play, tuff tubs, treasure baskets and creative and sensory resources.


The main room has its own home corner play area with realistic resources to enable imaginative play and a slide to support physical play.


The sensory room has wonderful ceiling under the sea fairy lights, a ball pool, soft mats and a small soft climb on tractor and elephant slide. Baby's and toddlers love to explore in either the under the sea, farm or safari animal areas of the room.


We have our own fantastic outdoor area creating a safe play environment for our under two's children. We go outside in all weathers and have extensive resources for all types of play outdoors including a play house, sensory table, music area, sand and water play areas and a mud kitchen.


Each child is assigned a key person when they start at Greyfell Academy, they complete trials before their first day to enable the child to get a bond with their key person and play initially in the rooms with their Parents/Carers. We follow Parents/Carers routines when children start to help children settle in and create a home from home experience.


A healthy balanced diet is provided for the children, including healthy snacks and drinks. We cater to any dietary requirements/allergies and can help with weaning.


All nappies and wipes are provided by Greyfell Academy.


Children have their own online learning journals on a system called Iconnect. Parents/Carers can view photos and observations of their child and can add their own observations/photos to support further development and learning. Our team also complete daily communication books for Parents/Carers to view that states what they have eaten/drank, slept, nappy changes and what activities they have joined in throughout the day.

Deputy Manager and Under Two's Room Leader - Arabella

With over 19 years experience in childcare, and 16 years at Greyfell Academy, Arabella is our Deputy Manger and Room Leader.

Qualifications include:

-BA Hons in Childcare and Adolescence studies(Level 6)

- Level 2 understanding children and young peoples mental health

- Working together to safeguard children

-Advanced Safeguarding training for the Designated lead

-Safeguarding skills for Managers

-Paediatric First aid
